Brand

Established in 1958, Hongqi is a prestigious Chinese luxury car brand known for its association with state vehicles for Chinese leaders and significant national events. In the 1960s and 1970s, it became a symbol of China’s automotive industry. Following market reforms in the late 1970s, Hongqi embraced commercialization, culminating in a revitalized strategy in 2018 that boosted sales and initiated global exports.

History

Founded in 1958, Hongqi debuted China’s first independently produced luxury car, the CA72. The iconic ICA770, known as the “national car,” was widely used by state leaders. Over the decades, Hongqi expanded its lineup with notable models like the CA771, CA773, and the luxurious CA7460, developed in collaboration with Ford. The brand introduced new generations, including the CA7202E3 and CA7242E6, leading to the recent Hongqi H7, solidifying its reputation for affordable luxury sedans.
